Björn Wandels (°1979, lives and works in Ghent) expresses himself in various media. His hybrid work ironizes the premises of media (analog/digital) by using them outside their traditional field or use.
He paints photos from the chemical darkroom, photographs drawings, he films sound, he builds short videos and collage loops and transforms these into installations, he draws poetry and letters.
His work does not aim to be scientific research, but is a translation based on the logic and the limits of artistic materiality.
Ambiguous work, in the sense of the presence of at least two possible reading directions: tragic and absurd.
